Dr. Cathleen Coyne, DDS

Dr. Cathleen Coyne is a specialist in oral and maxillofacilal surgery.  Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, she received her doctorate of dental surgery from the University of Illinois and completed her hospital residency program at Tufts University and Boston Medical Center. Dr. Coyne was a leader among her peers and held the distinction of Chief Resident in her final year of residency.  In addition to her surgical and anesthesia training, Dr. Coyne enjoyed teaching students about oral surgery, a role she continues to cherish today, speaking at numerous dental study meetings throughout the Nashville area.

In 1997 she began practicing in Franklin, Tennessee, and in 2004 she opened her own practice in Cool Springs. Dr. Coyne excels in providing compassionate care through careful diagnosis, case planning, focused surgical care, and attentive follow-up.  At Coyne Oral Surgery, the passion and enthusiasm for people as well as their concern for every patient’s total health make the practice truly unique and allows them to be a leading oral surgery center.

Dr. Coyne excels in providing compassionate care through careful diagnosis, case planning, focused surgical care, and attentive follow-up.  At Coyne Oral Surgery, the passion and enthusiasm for people as well as their concern for every patient’s total health make the practice truly unique and allows them to be a leading oral surgery center.

Dr. Coyne is actively involved in her community; she serves on several local boards, sponsors youth soccer through the Williamson County Soccer Association, and volunteers for the Interfaith Dental Clinic. She has participated in several international medical mission trips, and for the last seven years she has sat on the board of Williamson County Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) for Children.

Although Dr. Coyne spends her week days treating patients, on the weekends you can usually find her hiking with her husband, three sons, and their family dog.

Marlena 

With over 16 years of experience at Coyne Oral Surgery, Marlena brings a wealth of knowledge to our practice. She originally joined Coyne Oral Surgery in a front office position with a dental phobia! She quickly became fascinated by oral surgery and began learning everything she could about the field. 

While working at Coyne Oral Surgery, Marlena attended Tennessee Tech College and graduated with her Registered Dental Assistant degree. Today, she is a vital team member in providing quality care to our patients. “With every patient, we strive to give them a very comfortable and genuine experience,” says Marlena.

Outside of work, Marlena enjoys singing, spending time with her two children, and traveling – especially to Siesta Key Beach in her home state of Florida, where she loves hunting for shark teeth.
